A command in the vhguide book that returns you to your death point
#1
This should be possible by utilizing the Player NBT data that the Recovery Compass uses. It would be really helpful for new players who are just starting out and don't want to go on the RTP platform and hope for the best or start their trek all over, as they can then continue their journey to 15k from where they left off. To keep (more experienced) players from abusing it to set a "second home," though, there should probably be a limit of how many times it can be used per day; perhaps it could be twice as many spawn tp's or fewer so that newbies aren't penalized too much for dying, but still enough to tell them that they can't expect to die willy-nilly and get back to where they were all the time.

Thoughts?

Thinking is dangerous, but so is everything else when you put your mind to it.

As a player who likes to travel overland and "see the sights" to get past 15k when starting out on a new map,
I can sympathize with newbies getting kicked back to spawn when they die. The best solution I've found to avoid that
situation, other than not getting killed, is to gather some extra wool and planks along the way and craft some extra beds.
Set your spawn - sleep in a bed when you stop for the night. Yes, stop for the night - make a hidey hole and dig in.
When you set out in the morning, leave that bed and continue on your way and continue that process until you get past
15k. That way if or when you get killed you get kicked back to the last bed you slept in instead of all the way back to spawn.
